Webinar invitation 8.2.: What does physical activity mean to your brain?

Welcome to the webinar on Thursday, 8 February 2024, 9–10 a.m., to learn how physical activity affects the brain and well-being. The webinar will be hosted by neuroscientist Professor Minna Huotilainen in finnish. The webinar recording will be subtitled also in English and Swedish.The webinar is offered by the joint University on the Move project of UniSport and universities, which is funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture. A record number of graduates from the School of Chemical Engineering

In 2023, 199 students graduated with a Master of Science in Technology degree from Aalto University's School of Chemical Engineering. This is the highest number in the school's history. The school has seen a sharp increase in admissions over the past few years: Compared to 2019, the number of students has increased by almost 30%. About half of the students are women and almost a quarter have on international background.

Music causes similar emotions and bodily sensations across cultures

Music can be felt directly in the body. When we hear our favourite catchy song, we are overcome by the urge to move to the music. Music can activate our autonomic nervous system and even send shivers down your spine. A new study shows how emotional music evokes these bodily sensations and how the response is similar across cultures.

Learning Services – Success enablers: New roadmap published
