Description of the programme

Master's Programme in Geoengineering is organized by the School of Engineering.

The programme gives you the knowledge, skills, and competences that are needed to understand the behaviour of soils for geotechnical engineering, of rocks for rock engineering and mining and of road structures for highway engineering. As a graduate of the programme, you will have a firm grasp of engineered structures. This covers the entire life cycle from research and design to construction, maintenance and recycling. Field investigations, laboratory experiments and numerical modelling are the tools a geoengineer relies on.

These pages contain the study related information for the students of the programme, including the current curriculum as well as the guidelines for planning your studies.

Geoengineering, Master of Science (Technology)

As one of the top-ranked programmes in its field, the Master’s Programme in Geoengineering provides world-class education in the disciplines of geotechnics, rock mechanics, highway engineering and construction. As geoengineering is a discipline involved with soil and rock, working as the primary basis for our built environment, one could call it the hidden science of everyday life. Simultaneously, Geoengineering graduates play a key role in urbanisation and circular economy, fighting climate change and the growing use of natural resources. Thanks to their highly appreciated knowledge and skills, as well as the programme’s close collaboration with the industry, graduates tend to find great job opportunities with ease.

How to apply
