Master's Programme in Space Science and Technology is organized by the School of Electrical Engineering.

SpaceMaster is a Joint Master’s Programme in Space Science and Technology that is being served by 5 top European universities. The main objective of the programme is to combine the great diversity of space expertise at five European universities to a common platform of competence within the guidelines of the Bologna process. This website is the local SpaceMaster webpage designed to provide information about the SpaceMasters' second-year studies at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation and Department of Electronics and Nanotechnology at Aalto University School of Electrical Engineering (Aalto ELEC). The site contains the student study guide for the master’s programme. Here, you will find the programme curriculum as well as detailed guidelines for planning your studies.

Apart from the SpaceMaster-programme, Space Science and Technology can be studied as a major in the Master’s Programme in Electronics and Nanotechnology.

Space Science and Technology, Master of Science (Technology)

SpaceMaster V is a continuation of the original Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree programmes launched in 2004 and implemented by a consortium of leading European universities in close collaboration with research and industrial organizations.

How to apply
SpaceMaster IV (2019-2025) is a continuation of the original Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree programs launched in 2004.

Tuition fees

The programme follows each university's own tuition fee policies.

In Aalto University, the tuition fees for tuition-fee students are the following:

  • Right to study started on or before 1 August 2024: 15,000 EUR / academic year
  • Right to study started on or after 1 August 2025: 17,000 EUR / academic year

Participation costs and fees will be charged according to the university regulations at the Partner Universities.
