Aalto University Rules of Conduct

Rules of Conduct promote a safe and accessible university environment for all Aalto community members, visitors and partners. They ensure that the university premises, property and services are used for the ordinary operations of the university, i.e. for study, research, university job duties and other agreed uses.

Purpose

These rules promote a safe and accessible university environment for all Aalto community members, visitors and partners. They ensure that the university premises, property and services are used for the ordinary operations of the university, i.e. for study, research, university job duties and other agreed uses. The rules are based on:

  1. the Universities Act (558/2009) and the Occupational Safety and Health Act (738/2002)
  2. the Aalto University Code of Conduct
  3. the rules, regulations and guidelines regarding the use of Aalto University services, property and premises.

Entry into force and application

The rules will apply from 1 September 2025 on the Aalto University premises and, where applicable, also in other locations where university activities take place. In these rules, Aalto University premises refers to all properties, other facilities and outdoor areas used by the university, as well as to the digital environments managed by the university, where appropriate.
