Entrepreneurship promotion fund

Grants from the Aalto University Entrepreneurship Promotion Free Fund may be awarded on a discretionary basis to support measures that promote entrepreneurship as part of the university's mission of societal impact.

The fund was set up to promote entrepreneurship. The grant will support activities that promote entrepreneurship, an entrepreneurial mindset and a positive attitude towards entrepreneurship as part of Aalto University's entrepreneurship and innovation activities. This includes, for example, promoting an entrepreneurial mindset in the student and research community, organising events and training or incubator programmes that support entrepreneurship. Grants will not be awarded to applicants whose activities' purpose or objective is capital investment.

Rules of the Fund

The purpose of the Fund is to support activities that promote entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial mindsets and positive attitudes towards entrepreneurship as part of Aalto University's entrepreneurship and innovation activities, within the framework of the University's mission of creating societal impact.

The purpose of the fund is implemented by awarding grants to promote and support student entrepreneurship on the basis of applications.

The Vice President for Innovation and the Chief Financial Officer jointly decide on the allocation of grants and scholarships. and grants. They are also responsible for the regular monitoring of grants and scholarships. The Vice President and the Chief Financial Officer may appoint a coordinator for the Fund to be responsible for the practical tasks of the Fund. The use of the Fund's resources is reported regularly to the President and the Board.

The management of the Fund and the award decisions will take into account, in particular, possible constraints arising from State aid legislation.

Applicants should refer to the attached document on the conditions of eligibility and submit the completed grant application form attached to the conditions of eligibility, together with the following annexes:

  • a project plan with a breakdown of costs
  • the articles of association of the non-profit organisation
