Aalto Doctoral Programme in Business, Economics and Finance

Doctoral Programme in Business, Economics and Finance is a four-year, English-language doctoral programme offered by Aalto University School of Business - one of Europe’s leading business schools. The program provides rigorous, high-quality research training in a collaborative academic culture that values intellectual independence, critical inquiry, and low hierarchy.

Business law studies combine business and legal sciences 

The importance of legal norms in business operations is constantly growing. To manage risks and enhance competitiveness, there is an increasing need for individuals who deeply understand both economic activities and related legal regulations. Business law studies provide understanding of the legal norms regulating business operations and their significance in managing business. Key themes include:

  • Intellectual property rights and data protection 
  • Legal issues related to artificial intelligence

  • Taxation and tax planning

Graduates in business law have extensive knowledge of both business operations and law, making them well-suited for a range of managerial and specialist roles in companies, NGOs, and public institutions both in Finland and internationally. Graduates in business law can work in, for example: 

  • Consulting roles 
  • Corporate and NGO tax, sustainability, contract management, and legal teams  
  • Finnish Tax Administration
