Fashion Consumption and COVID-19
The purpose of this research is to investigate changes in fashion consumption behaviour during COVID-19 pandemic. This is a multinational survey study involving various universities across Europe, North America and Asia including Finland, Germany, Geneva, India, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Czech Republic, the United States, and Hong Kong.
In Finland the data collection is happening through two channels; A) wide consumer panel, B) Aalto University students. A link to the survey will be sent to selected University students in Aalto University.

What is the purpose of the research?
The purpose of this research is to investigate changes in fashion consumption of people during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Data collection
Data for this study will be collected through a wide international survey. Aalto University uses survey programme Webropol to run the data collection and all answers are anonymized. Link to survey will be send ºÚÁÏÍø University students in the School of ARTS, CHEM and ELEC (BA and MA level students) by Aalto services. The students answer anonymously and the answers cannot be identified in any way.
Responsibilities
The survey and questions have been constructed in collaboration and survey will be exact the same in each country. Each University is responsible to collect own data, analyze it and store the data according to principles in each University. Data will not be shared between Universities, only results from analysis.
Will the research outcomes be published?
The researcher aims to write articles for publication in academic journals and potentially book chapters. The findings may also be presented at international and national conferences in the format of conference papers, presentations and posters.

You are being invited to take part in a research study concerning changes in Fashion Consumption behaviour during the period of COVID-19. Before you decide whether to take part, it is important for you to understand why the research is being conducted and what it will involve. Please take time to read the following information carefully before deciding whether to take part and discuss it with others if you wish. Please ask if there is anything that is not clear or if you would like more information. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Participation
What would my involvement be?
You will be asked to complete a survey which takes around 10-15 minutes. The questions are not mandatory so you can move to the next question if you desire too. If you decide to leave the survey part way through, the answers that you have completed up to that point will not be included in the study and will be discarded.
What happens if I do not want to take part or if I change my mind?
It is up to you to decide whether or not to take part. If you decide to take part you are still free to withdraw at any time without giving a reason and without detriment to yourself. However, it will not be possible to remove your data from the project once it has been anonymised as we will not be able to identify your specific data. This does not affect your data protection rights. If you decide not to take part you do not need to do anything further.

What information will you collect about me?
Personal information (incl. Age, Gender, Income) is important for the results of the study. This information will be kept strictly confidential during analysis and reported in aggregated rather than individual form and used for research purposes only. All information provided will be treated in strict compliance with applicable data protection laws.
Your rights
- You have the right to re request access to personal data, to request the correction or erasure of personal data, to restrict the processing, or object to the processing of personal data.
