Synopsis

What happens when employees are quietly ignored, excluded, or left out of communication loops? Workplace ostracism can undermine well-being, teamwork, and trust. Dr. Sirpa Manninen, who has conducted research on workplace ostracism in Finnish organizations and healthcare settings, will share insights on how ostracism differs from bullying and harassment, what mechanisms (such as loneliness and lowered self-esteem) explain its harmful effects, and what can be done to prevent it.

This session offers concrete strategies for anyone interested in building inclusive work culture where no one is left out.
