About this course
During this course you will learn pedagogical approaches and tools to support your work as a teaching assistant. We discuss important topics such as interaction, feedback, different approaches to learning, supporting different kinds of learners, motivation and study wellbeing.
The course includes discussion and groupwork during the teaching sessions and learning assignments between the sessions.
This course is also a great opportunity to meet course assistants from all schools at Aalto University!
Intended learning outcomes
After this course, you will be able to:
- observe the learning environment from the learning perspective
- identify aspects to support students' learning process
- recognise ways to support students' study motivation
- identify your role as a learning instructor

Who can participate?
You can register for this course if...
- you are employed by Aalto,
- you teach at the university and
- you can participate in all the contact sessions.
Approximately 25 participants can be accepted to this course. In case there are more applicants than can be accepted, the participants are selected based on their teaching responsibilities described in the application form.
All applicants will be informed about acceptance approximately two to three weeks before the course begins via email.
