Cooperation creates value for students and the City of Mikkeli
Students of the Aalto University Mikkeli Campus worked on seven projects for the City of Mikkeli related to sustainable development. This gave the students an opportunity to combine theory and practice in a meaningful way, and the cooperation provided the City of Mikkeli new insights on how to tackle current challenges.

At the School of Engineering's Teaching Forum, Samuel Cross, who has just received the Award for Achievements in Teaching together with Annukka Santasalo-Aarnio, will give a presentation on “Challenge-based education in an online environment”. In February 2021, Cross and Santasalo-Aarnio were awarded the Dean’s recognition for developing challenge-based learning and co-teaching in distance education.
