Significant Grant for Greener Semiconductor Technology from Business Finland

  Significant grants for science from the Finnish Cultural Foundation
  A total of thirty individuals and research groups from Aalto University received grants from the Finnish Cultural Foundation for science and art. Professors Harri Lipsanen and Zhipei Sun and their team, were awarded a large grant to develop electronic components mimicking the structure and function of the human brain. Among the grantees is also Professor Mikko Alava, whose team is developing water-resistant foams as substitutes for plastic using AI-based methods.

  A record number of graduates from the School of Chemical Engineering
  In 2023, 199 students graduated with a Master of Science in Technology degree from Aalto University's School of Chemical Engineering. This is the highest number in the school's history. The school has seen a sharp increase in admissions over the past few years: Compared to 2019, the number of students has increased by almost 30%. About half of the students are women and almost a quarter have on international background.
