About CEMAT
The Center for Markets in Transition (CEMAT) of the Aalto University School of Business is a research center founded in 1998. CEMAT conducts academic and applied research specializing in the Russian economy and business environment.

Center for Knowledge and Innovation Research CKIR
CKIR, founded in 1999, is an academic and multidisciplinary research center at the Aalto University School of Business.
CKIR’s main research focus is on innovation ecosystems, ICT enabled service platforms and thus enabled new business dynamics. CKIR conducts its research with international network of firms, universities, cities and public agencies like the European Commission.

Online learning at Aalto University 2016-2020
Aalto Online Learning improves education through online and blended learning approaches from 2016. In 2022 it moves its operational approach from supporting solo-pilots to research and development of production pipelines for MOOCs, 360 environment and educational games.

VTT and Aalto University collaborate to develop novel textile fibres
TeKiDe project transforms wood fibres and discarded cotton textiles, such as used sheets and towels, into viscose-type fibre to be used as raw material for textile products.

Management
The executive bodies of the university are the Board (AUFB), the President, and the University Academic Affairs Committee (AAC). The President's Management Team (PMT) coordinates the daily work at the university and the preparation of pre-decision motions. The Aalto Management Team (AMT) furthers transparency and open dialogue in decision-making regarding university development.

Ioncell-F
Ioncell-F technology developed at Aalto University in collaboration with the University of Helsinki converts wood into textiles without any harmful chemicals.

ALL-CELL: From ultra-light to ultra-strong all-cellulose composites via green processing
Finland Distinguished Professor grant awarded to Prof. Tatiana Budtova (Center for Materials Forming of MINES ParisTech, France). The goal of the 4-year project (started 2016) is to imagine, prepare and characterize new fully bio-based materials, all-cellulose composites.
