Aalto 10K event was held on 17.9 - autumn sun, thousands of sneakers and good vibes!

Aalto 10K/ 5K event was held on Sunday 17 September 2017 already for the 8th time.

Over 1500 "aaltoites" (personnel, alumni, students) had enrolled to the sports events held during the Espoo Rantamarathon Weekend 16-17.9. 2017.
Approximate 200 members of Aalto took part in marathons held on Saturday and over 1300 had registered for Aalto 10K and 5K events held on Sunday 17.9.2017.

Before the starting shot of the Aalto 10K, President of Aalto University, Mr. Ilkka Niemelä (picture 1 on the left) and representative of Aalto University's student union Mr. Oskar Niemenoja (picture 1 on the right) awarded the Sportsman of the Year award to Mr. Lauri Vainio.
Lauri Vainio is a Master's student at the Department of Civil and Structural Engineering. In addition he is a multiple national champion and member of the national team of  the American Football. Unfortunately Lauri was not able to attend to the award ceremony, and thus his team member, Mr Akseli Olin (picture 1 in the middle) received the award for him.

Aalto -10 event will be held again during autumn 2018! Registration will begin February 2018.
