Aalto becomes a member of the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program

Aalto has been welcomed into the Program, which is widely considered the investment profession’s most rigorous credentialing scheme.

BI Norwegian Business School and Copenhagen Business School are the only other Nordic universities already part of this program.

This designation was possible because the M.Sc. in Finance program, taught at Aalto Business School, has been acknowledged as incorporating at least 70 percent of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and placing emphasis on the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

This program positions students well to obtain the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation, which has become the most respected and recognized investment credential in the world.

According to Professor Markku Kaustia at the Aalto University School of Business, we share the vision of the CFA Institute on societal impact and professional development, and want to offer our students this opportunity to enhance their CV through becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst. We are delighted that our students can take advantage of the opportunities provided by our membership of the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program.

Entry into the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program signals to potential students, employers, and the marketplace that the Department of Finance curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and is well-suited to preparing students to sit for the CFA examinations. Through participation in this program, Department of Finance is also eligible to receive some student scholarships for the CFA Program each year.
