The 2018 Helsinki Book Fair takes place at Messukeskus Helsinki, Expo and Convention Centre from 25 until 28 October. Aalto University's publishing house and book shop Aalto ARTS Books is on display at the stand 6b80.
Some new books and their authors will be presented on three occasions:
Friday 26 October at 14.30鈥15.00
Kirsi Niinim盲ki: 鈥滽est盲v盲 muoti kiertotaloudessa鈥, interviewed by Pirjo K盲盲ri盲inen at the Kruununhaka stage. Niinim盲ki and K盲盲ri盲inen are professors at the Department of Design.
Saturday 27 October at 14.00鈥15.00
Saara Cantell & Tiina Pirhonen: 鈥滾盲hikuvan lumo 鈥 valokeilassa n盲yttelij盲n ja ohjaajan yhteisty枚鈥, interviewed by Piia Peltola at the Kruununhaka stage. Cantell is a director, screenwriter and Doctor of Arts. Pirhonen is Lecturer at the University of the Arts (Uniarts Helsinki).
Sunday 28 October at 10.30鈥11.00
Ossi Naukkarinen: 鈥滶stetiikan avaruus鈥, interviewed by Juuso Pekkinen at the Esplanadi stage.
Vice Dean, Professor Naukkarinen starts as the new Vice President for Research at Aalto University on the 1 November.
A new book by Nando Malmelin will be published at the fair, too: 鈥漊udistu ja kasva 鈥 Luovan mielen kehitt盲minen ja johtaminen鈥 (Viisas el盲m盲, 2018). Malmelin discusses the themes of the book on Sunday 28 October 16.00鈥16.30 at the Vallisaari stage. He is Professor of Practice at the Aalto University School of Business and Docent at the University of Helsinki.
This year all new students at the University of Helsinki, Aalto University and Uniarts Helsinki were invited to the fair by the Helsinki Book Fair organisation.

In 2011, Nokia Oyj launched its extensive Nokia Bridge Program that aimed to help experts start entrepreneurship and find employment after being laid off. Aalto Startup Center offered business accelerator services to the participants and coached them in innovation and commercial processes.
