Aalto ranks 18th among world’s young universities

Times Higher Education rankings places Aalto in the shared 1st spot in the Nordic countries among universities under 50 years old .

Aalto University ranks 18th out of the world’s young universities according to the 2019 Times Higher Education Young University Rankings. Last year Aalto’s position was 22nd on the list. The first place was taken by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Aalto was the best ranked young university from the Nordic countries, and shared this position with Aalborg University from Denmark.

Of those universities founded after 2000, Aalto ranked fifth in the world.

The THE ranking includes 351 universities aged 50 or younger marked against criteria such as research, teaching, international outlook and collaboration with the industry.
