Aalto ranks first among young Nordic universities
New Times Higher Education rankings places Aalto 22nd out of all universities under 50 years old
Aalto University ranks 22nd out of the world’s young universities, according to the 2018 Times Higher Education Young University Rankings. Last year Aalto’s position was 27th on the list.
The ranking includes 250 universities aged 50 or younger marked against criteria such as research, teaching, international outlook and collaboration with industry.
Aalto was the best ranked young university from the Nordic countries, with Aalborg University next at 27th place. This year taking first place was the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology over École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, which has held the spot for three years.
Of those universities founded after 2000, Aalto ranked fifth in the world.
