Aalto University is partnering with Terkko Health Hub and Helsinki Think Company’s Terkko Health X: an accelerator for innovations in the healthcare sector. This collaboration enables Terkko Health Accelerator to branch out from the Meilahti campus and use the technological resources and expertise of Aalto’s Otaniemi campus.

This is an opportunity for the accelerator’s participants to benefit from Aalto’s knowledge in areas like health technology, biotechnology and artificial intelligence. Participants will also be able to take advantage of the university’s networks.

“With this collaboration, we are strengthening the already tight bond between Aalto University and the key actors in the Academic Medical Center Helsinki”, says Markus Mäkelä, Executive in Residence, Aalto Health Platform.

Aalto Health Platform, led by Mäkelä, builds interaction for Aalto University with companies, hospitals, and the society at large.

“We are very excited about this collaboration with Aalto University. They will bring a lot of value as well as be a significant asset to our participants”, praises Iiro Uotila, the Program Manager of Terkko Health Accelerator.

Kiira Grönroos, the Project Manager of Terkko Health Hub, highlights the importance of inclusiveness and collaborations in the industry.

“We are proud to join forces with ambitious organizations that support the growth of innovations within the health and life science field. In order to truly reshape our healthcare and make a big difference, we can’t afford to play small. We need to aim to create big societal impact rather than small organizatory wins.”

Terkko Health X is an accelerator program for ideas that can reshape healthcare. The 2-month early-stage accelerator is organised by Terkko Health Hub and Helsinki Think Company, and enabled by Sitra, Aalto University, HUS, the University of Helsinki’s Faculty of Medicine and Helsinki Institute of Life Science, HiLIFE.
