Aalto University Properties Ltd divests Chydenia property

The change in ownership does not affect Chydenia users' everyday life until the move to Otaniemi.

Aalto University Properties Ltd has divested Chydenia property at Runeberginkatu 22-24 to Kiinteistö Oy Helsingin Runeberginkatu 22-24 founded by Erikoissijoitusrahasto eQ Hoivakiinteistöt on 31 August, 2017. The building comprises approximately 8,100 sq. m.

Aalto University has also signed a fixed-term lease agreement on the Chydenia premises until July 2019. The Business School faculty, staff and students that are still in the Töölö campus will locate to the new Business School building in the core of the Otaniemi campus, in summer 2019. The Bachelor education of the School of Business moved to Otaniemi in the autumn 2015.

The change in ownership does not affect Chydenia users' everyday life. The new owner will plan the further use of the building during Aalto's lease, but begins significant renovations after Aalto has left the premises. Aalto University Properties (ACRE) continues as a service provider and Mia Mustonen as Facility Coordinator of the School of Business, until the move to Otaniemi.

Chydenia's divestment is part of Aalto University's Töölö campus development plan, which includes the divestment of Chydenia and Arkadiankatu 24 (Arkadia). At the same time, the main building of the School of Business will be developed for the future use of Aalto University Executive Education Ltd, Aalto University and various community stakeholders. The sales process of Arkadia is still ongoing and the development plans for the main building will be specified in 2018.
