Aalto High 5 event was organized on 26 February in Dipoli. Aalto Built Environment Lab was presented together with the softGIS method from YTK Land Use Planning and Urban Studies Group and Cruise & Ferry Experience program.

ABE’s demo stand featured Reina Magica’s Master’s thesis, a cruise ship interior design tool with VR simulator, and Petri Kangassalo’s wiki city planning tool prototype. It was also possible to try a softGIS questionnaire on the stand.

Magica’s cruise ship interior design tool Proteus was popular among the guests. Many wanted to try Oculus Rift virtual reality headset in action. Kangasssalo’s Plan O demo featured a 3D Otaniemi area map where a user can insert simple buildings and look at the result also from the street level. This demo also sparked some discussions about the future of the Otaniemi area.
