Academy Project funding for Professor Mauri Kostiainen
Professor Mauri Kostiainen receives Consortium Project funding from the Academy of Finland
The SEMMA consortium aims to develop technologies for capturing human proteins directly from cell lines for their structure determination. These methods will be used to study several targets involved in human protein homeostasis, a control mechanism in every living cell. These novel technologies are expected to be widely applicable in studying basic biomolecular mechanisms and disease and offer potential for commercialization. SEMMA is a consortium between Prof. Kostiainen, head of the Biohybrid Materials Research Group at Aalto University, and project PI Prof. Juha T. Huiskonen and Dr. Ville Paavilainen at the University of Helsinki.
