Anne Brunila appointed Chair of the Aalto University Board
The Aalto University Board was formed in a meeting held on 13 January 2016. Anne Brunila, D.Sc. (Economics and Business Administration), Professor at Hanken School of Economics, was appointed Chair of the Board and Mikko Kosonen, Ph.D. (Econ), President of Sitra, was appointed Vice Chair. Brunila has been a member of the university's Board since 2008, and the Vice Chair for the last three years.
– It has been great to see how Aalto University has evolved into a truly multidisciplinary and international academic community, which is able to fulfil its national mission to create research-based innovations. I am very concerned about the research and education funding cuts made by the Finnish Government since they will significantly weaken the prerequisites of operation of the universities and the knowledge-based growth in Finland, says Anne Brunila.
