Another EUR 1.3 million donation from the Foundation for Economic Education
Aalto University has received a donation of EUR 1.3 million for research and education in business and economics from the Foundation for Economic Education (Liikesivistysrahasto). This donation is a continuation for another donation of the same amount made by the foundation in December 2016.
On 20 April 2017, the board of the Foundation for Economic Education granted a total of EUR 2.5 million in extra funding for Finnish universities with education in business and economics. This means that in 2016鈥2017 the Foundation has donated a total of EUR 5 million for research and education in business and economics.
The criteria for the donation were the same as before: success in research, societal impact measured by the total number of graduates and doctors, and donations for the Foundation received from fields of the universities concerned during the last 15 years.
'This investment in Finnish research and education in business and economics is the Foundation's gift for the 100th anniversary of Finland. By this donation, the Foundation for Economic Education wishes for its part to enable innovation in research and education in business and economics', states Johanna Vesterinen, CEO of the Foundation.
'We are extremely grateful for the Foundation for Economic Education for this significant donation, which will help us further develop our research and education in the field of business and economics. We are also grateful for the long-standing support of the Foundation as well as their co-operation with the School of Business, which has continued for nearly 100 years鈥, states Ingmar Bj枚rkman, Dean of the Aalto University School of Business.
