Arkady V. Krasheninnikov and Zhipei Sun among the world’s most highly cited researchers

Web of Science Group identifies the top 1% of influential researchers globally.

Two Aalto University professors, Arkady V. Krasheninnikov and Zhipei Sun, were included in this year’s list of Highly Cited Researchers by the Web of Science Group. The list identifies scientists and social scientists who produced multiple papers ranking in the top 1% by citations for their field and year of publication, demonstrating significant research influence among their peers.

Zhipei Sun is professor of photonics at Aalto University Department of Electronics and Nanoengineering. Arkadi V. Krasheninnikov studies electronic properties of materials and is visiting professor at the Department of Applied Physics.

Altogether the list included some 6 200 highly cited researchers. The United States is home to the highest number of them, with 2 737 authors, representing 44% of the researchers on the list. The amount of researchers with a Finnish first or second affiliation was 26.
