CRM Days united Finnish higher education experts for two days of CRM insights

Kansalliset yliopistojen ja korkeakoulujen CRM-päivät 2025 conference was held on 11–12 September at Aalto University.

The event brought together over 70 technology professionals, experts, and developers from across Finland. Bringing such a large and skilled group under one roof was a clear testament to the strength and diversity of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) expertise within Finnish higher education institutions. CRM plays a crucial role in managing customer relationships, partnerships and data which are key functions in universities and higher education settings.

The event was opened by Aalto University’s Head of CRM and Analytics, Ville Krannila, and President Ilkka Niemelä, who emphasised the role of technology in building the future and the importance of data-driven decision-making.

‘At Aalto, we believe that knowledge is a valuable asset. We must collect information systematically and share it. It’s not just about the amount of data, but above all about what is done with the collected data,’ said Niemelä, reflecting on the priorities of Aalto University.

Over the course of two days, participants explored the most current topics through in-depth expert sessions and hands-on workshops. Key themes included:

  • The latest developments in the D365 for Marketing tool and the shift towards Real-Time Marketing.
  • Fundamentals of building reports, and the cultural changes and challenges this introduces to organisations.
  • Opportunities offered by the newest Microsoft Power Pages solutions in development work.

The discussions were lively, and the questions insightful – exactly the kind of interaction that drives CRM development forward. A big thank you to all the top professionals who contributed with their active participation and openly shared their knowledge.
