Draft of Aalto data protection policy open for comments

Aalto University is making preparations for the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on 25 May 2018.

In connection to this, a data protection policy has been prepared to guide the implementation of the university's data protection. The university community members are welcome to comment on the .  

The data protection policy defines the main principles, responsibilities and procedures that are to be followed when processing personal data. Based on the data protection policy, codes of conduct and other guidelines will also be drawn up.

The aim is to ensure the university’s compliance to the EU General Data Protection Regulation, national data protection legislation and other legislation.

Please give your comments on the draft by email: tietosuojavastaava@aalto.fi  by 4.4.2018. Aalto’s data protection officer is Jari Söderström, Senior Legal Counsel.

The aim is that the President can approve the data protection policy by the beginning of May.
