Drupal clinics 09/2018 – drop in for tips on finalising content for new aalto.fi

A total of six comprehensive Drupal trainings have been held – a big thank you to everyone who attended.

There were some 200 of you in total, which is great!

In September, the project team is organising five clinics for you to visit if you would like to get advice and tips on finalising your content for the ever-closer October publication of the new website.

The clinics will all take place in Dipoli's foyer by the café area. The dates and times are:

  • Thursday 6 Sep 2018 at 13.00–14.30
  • Tuesday 11 Sep 2018 at 13.00–14.30
  • Friday 14 Sep 2018 at 09.30–11.00
  • Tuesday 18 Sep 2018 at 13.00–14.30
  • Friday 21 Sep 2018 at 09.30–11.00

Come with your ideas and queries. See you there!

Drupal basics in hand

Before visiting the clinic, you need to know the basics of using the Drupal platform. If you're not familiar with how to use it, the extensive Drupal guide and tutorials are there to teach you, as well as ease your work in managing your web content.

October 2018 launch – old aalto.fi archived, Inside in read-only mode

Please note, that when the new aalto.fi is published in October, the old website will be archived, as such it will be accessible but from a different address and only for a limited time. Inside will be available in the read-only mode also for a limited amount of time. Once the sites are taken down, no old content is lost.

Translations

The translations have now been done. The work consisted of translations from Finnish to English, or vice versa, as instructed by the content owners. All content owners and editors have been advised to now check their respective translations, amend them, approve and finally publish them. Should you be unsure of the HUB where your content is, the Drupal guide includes that information under HUBs, HUB ID numbers and languages.

If you have any further Finnish-English-Finnish translation needs, you will need to organise these translations yourselves within your unit. We recommend that you contact our translation agency of choice, Lingsoft, as they have a very efficient process for translating the content directly in Drupal. You can reach them at julkishallinto@lingsoft.fi for a quote.

Swedish translations are in the pipeline and content owners and editors will be informed of that process, once the plans and minimum translation requirements are finalised.
