Electronic degree certificates have completely supplanted paper

As of August 2025, Aalto University issues degree certificates only in digital form. Students can print paper copies of their certificates themselves.

Aalto University has provided electronic degree certificates as a smoother, more up-to-date alternative to paper certificates since early August 2025.   

As of 1 August 2025, Aalto University has issued degree certificates in the digital format only. Aalto no longer makes available paper versions of the degree certificates alongside the electronic ones.   

If you need a hard copy, you can either print it yourself or request a certified paper copy from the Starting Point service desk.
