Gary Marquis continues as Dean of School of Engineering
Professor Gary Marquis, D.Sc. (Tech.), born 1957, has been appointed for a second term as Dean of the Aalto University School of Engineering. The term is five years and starts on 1 July 2018. Marquis has served as Dean of the School of Engineering since 2013.
'Gary Marquis is a visionary and determined leader. The School of Engineering has undergone great transformation in recent years and its academic results have improved considerably. I’m pleased that he will continue in his position', says Kristiina Mäkelä, Provost of Aalto University.
'I’m excited to be able to continue developing our school and, together with our faculty, staff, students and stakeholders, head towards excellence', says Marquis.
Dean is responsible for directing the school’s activities and taking part in the long-term development of Aalto University as a member of its Management Team. Dean is responsible for the overall development and international competitiveness of the school, for allocating its resources and for recruiting faculty. Dean reports to the provost.
