Homecoming Day brings our alumni back to Töölö in August
The event offers our alumni knowledge and inspiring perspectives on current topics in the field of business as well as a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends.
The theme is Business and Society in 2020, and it is discussed from different perspectives with the School’s alumni, academic community and influential opinion leaders in the Finnish economy. The first ever Homecoming Day in 2014 brought over 600 participants back to the home campus.
The keynotes are given by Martti Ahtisaari, Nobel Laureate and former President of Finland and Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko, CEO of Marimekko. The keynotes are followed by panel session hosted by Executive in Residence Esko Aho. Aho is joined by Professor Minna Halme, Executive in Residence Bruce Oreck and Professor of Practice Pekka Mattila, and others. The expertise of our departments is showcased in parallel events, closing the day seminar.
After the day seminar, alumni have the opportunity to continue enjoying the event at Hotel Hilton Kalastajatorppa with a three-course dinner and exclusive programme, such as the speech by the alumnus/a of the year. KY’s (The Association of Economics Students in Helsinki) own big band Boston Promenade will accompany the celebration after the meal.
The first ever Homecoming Day in 2014 was sold out and brought over 600 alumni and prominent members of the society back to the home campus.
This year the programme is held mainly in English.
