Important information on PIN code usage at Aalto University campus

A PIN code is required to open the outer doors on the Aalto University campus at certain times. Choose a code that is easy to remember but not too simple - avoid obvious combinations.
Two people walk through a modern lobby with a light wood interior and a geometric wall art. Others sit on black chairs.

Opening the outer doors between 22:00 and 06:15 always requires a PIN code. On weekends and public holidays, both an access token and a PIN code are needed to open campus outer doors. When moving around campus during these times, first place your access token against the reader, then enter your PIN code.

Each access token holder has a personal PIN code, which is set during the registration of the token. The PIN code must be secure enough and should not contain simple combinations, such as consecutive numbers (e.g., 0000 or 1234). If you are currently using such a code, please change it as soon as possible.

Important notes:

  1. If you enter the wrong PIN code five times in a row, your access token will be deactivated. Please contact kulkukortit@aalto.fi.
  2. If you have forgotten your PIN code, you can set a new one at .

Note! When the PIN code is reset, it may take 15 minutes to 2 hours for it to be activated. The PIN code will not work immediately after the reset.
