What do you do at work?

I try to come up with ideas and technological solutions that can nudge clinical practice forward, and support health and wellbeing across our communities. By combining engineering, neuroscience and biomedical insights, I strive to create new rehabilitation and prosthetic solutions one experiment at a time.

Can you give one example how you promote equality, diversity and inclusion?

When welcoming students and visitors to our lab, I like to highlight an accessible route for reaching the place. I have a pre-prepared less-than-perfectly sketched map along with a short guide. These are easy to attach to emails, send as messages, or post on MyCourses and similar portals. This way, a barrier-free path to our lab avoiding stairs, steep slopes and crowded spaces, is apparent – perfect for those who might need it or simply prefer a more peaceful stroll. This is how I ensure that everyone feels welcome and included when coming over.
