Jyri Hämäläinen continues as Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering
Professor, Ph.D., D.Sc. Tech Jyri Hämäläinen, has been appointed for a second term as Dean of Aalto University School of Electrical Engineering. The term is five years and starts on 1 August 2020.
Hämäläinen has served as the school’s dean since 2015 and during his term, the school has developed significantly in many aspects, such as the quality of research, research funding and the school’s general financial situation. Most of the school’s personnel have relocated to new facilities with the result of significantly lower costs, and services have been developed systematically. The school has also invested in well-being at work.
The dean is responsible for directing the school’s activities and taking part in the long-term development of Aalto University as a member of its management team. The dean is also responsible for the overall development and international competitiveness of the school, for allocating its resources and for recruiting faculty. The dean reports to the provost.
