Latvian president visits Aalto University

President Bērziņš also meets some startup entrepreneurs and students.
Aalto University President Tuula Teeri welcomes Latvia's President

Latvia's President Andris Bērziņš visited Aalto University 28 January as part of a two-day state visit to Finland. The President's extensive entourage included several Latvian Government ministers, including Minister of Education and Science Mārīte Seile, and Leonīds Ribickis, Rector of Riga Technical University. President Bērziņš was briefed on a number of activities, including the teaching of entrepreneurship at Aalto University. The delegation also visited the Design Factory and Startup Sauna where the delegation met with startup entrepreneurs and students from Aalto University.

Simo Suoheimo from a startup called Ambronite introduced an organic drinkable meal, which the Latvian President tasted.
- We have customers in Latvia too, said Suoheimo.

In connection with a visit, two memorandums of understanding were signed between Aalto University and Riga Technical University.

President Bērziņš’ state visit includes also the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and the Geological Survey of Finland.
