Marjo Kettunen appointed development manager at the School of Science
Marjo Kettunen has been appointed development manager at the School of Science (SCI). She is transitioning from the School of Chemical Engineering, where she has served as development manager since spring 2018.
鈥楽CI is like Aalto University in one school: multidisciplinary, international, and ambitious 鈥 a most inspiring work environment for a development manager鈥, says Kettunen.
For Kettunen, this new role is also a return to her former home unit. She earned her doctorate from Aalto University's department of applied physics in 2013 and worked as an academic coordinator at the same department from 2013 to 2017. She ended up at the School of Chemical Engineering through the university鈥檚 joint services, where she served as project manager for research evaluation from 2017 to 2018.
鈥業 am excited to return to my roots, and about SCI's visionary spirit and the people with whom I get to collaborate on meaningful matters for the school and its departments鈥.
Kettunen succeeds Marja Niemi, who moved to the role of head of planning at the university earlier this autumn. While Kettunen is currently taking on the responsibilities of SCI's development manager, she will continue her duties at the School of Chemical Engineering until her successor is hired. The position is now open, Kettunen hints.
