Master’s Program in Advanced Energy Solutions starts in September 2017
"Energy and sustainability are key areas when one searches solutions for global problems," says the Vice-president of Education, Professor Eero Eloranta. “We wanted to create a program that reacts to the current development in the energy in our society, brings flexibility to our students and supports Aalto University's strategy: Educating Game Changers".
“The new Master education provides students with a comprehensive view to the energy sector, and at the same time creates synergies and possibilities for cooperation in the research," sums up the Director of the Program, Professor Martti Larmi.
The aim is to highlight, both nationally and internationally, the Aalto University’s excellence in the energy sector, and attract talented candidates to apply.
The program consists of four majors:
- Industrial Energy Processes and Sustainability
- Sustainable Energy Conversion Processes
- Sustainable Energy in Buildings and Built Environment
- Sustainable Energy Systems and Markets
The Master's degree in technology holds 120 credits. It consists of courses of major, elective studies and the Master's Thesis. All students will have a common major subject module, aiming to provide the students with a good knowledge of energy systems and markets in general. The curricula will be versatile and cross-disciplinary.
