Master’s thesis management functionality in MyStudies to be launched in autumn 2024
Aalto is reforming the Master's thesis management process. The aim of the reform is to centralize thesis information and administrative processes on one platform and replace eAge for the approval of Master's thesis topics and both eAge and MyCourses for thesis submission for approval. In the schools of technology (CHEM, ENG, ELEC, SCI), this will be accompanied by changing the topic approval practices. Starting in Autumn, the topic, supervisor, and advisors will no longer be approved by the Degree Programme Committees, but through the service platform (MyStudies for students).
For students, thesis management will become part of the MyStudies service.
In MyStudies Thesis Management functionality, students will
- Start a thesis process.
- Provide basic information about a thesis.
- Apply for supervisor approval.
- Store thesis metadata.
- Submit thesis for evaluation, approval and archiving.
The new functionality and centralized data will enable better support and tracking for the thesis process.
During the spring and early autumn, the schools’ bylaws and thesis guidelines will be updated. Students, currently writing a thesis, will be contacted for further advice on the thesis submission.
