Millennium Technology Prize festivities to be postponed

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Technology Academy Finland (TAF) Board has decided to postpone the announcement of the 2020 Millennium Technology Prize winner, the award ceremony and the Millennium Innovation Forum with one year to 18–19 May 2021. All events will take place in Dipoli at the Aalto University campus. The events were originally planned for 26–27 May 2020.

The latest winner of the Millennium Technology Prize is physicist Tuomo Suntola, an alumnus of Aalto University.

Millennium Youth Prize is run this year for the second time

In the spirit of the Millennium Technology Prize, Aalto University and the Technology Academy Finland (TAF) are, for the second time, running the Millennium Youth Prize competition. It is a competition for young people, 19 years of age or younger, to solve challenges connected to sustainability.

The Millennium Youth prize competition will also be postponed. The competition final and prize ceremony will be held on 9 October 2020 at the Aalto University campus.

Aalto University is a strategic partner of TAF.
