Novel Materials Discovery Laboratory (NOMAD) receives EU funding

The CEST group at Aalto is part of the Novel Materials Discovery (NOMAD) consortium that was just awarded funding in the Centres of Excellence in Exascale Computing program of the European Union. NOMAD takes the next step in materials modelling, enabled by the forthcoming exascale high-performance computing and extreme-scale data hardware. NOMAD will develop exascale algorithms to create accurate predictive models of real-world, industrially-relevant, complex materials for applications in clean energy generation, transport, IT, health and personal well-being. In Finland, Aalto University and CSC - IT Center for Science participate in NOMAD. Researchers at Aalto will contribute to electronic structure theory development and machine learning for advanced atomistic materials simulations.
