Open university summer courses for degree students
Free summer courses
Aalto University's degree students present on campus are offered free places on some of the courses organised by the open university during the summer season of 2026. There is a limited number of free places, and when they are full, you can still participate by paying the course fee if there are places available.
Note that the open university course descriptions are not in Sisu but can be found in the open course selection. Read the course description carefully before enrolling.
In addition to the open university, for example, schools also organise free courses in the summer. You can find a list of all free summer courses on the summer courses pages.

How to register to a open university course
Registration for free courses at the open university is done as usual in Sisu. If you are unsure whether the course belongs to your degree (degree structure), please check with your school's Learning Services before enrolling.
The open university course must be added to your primary study plan before you can enrol. Note that open university course codes differ from those of degree courses. Always check the correct course code in the course description. Enrolments are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Enrolment for summer courses starts at the earliest on 23 March at 9 am.
If there are no free places or they are full, you can enrol as an open university student by paying the course fee. You can find instructions for enrolment in the course description and on our website.
