Petri Suomala continues as Vice President for Education

The vice president’s term of appointment is five years and starts on 1 September 2023

Professor, DSc, Petri Suomala has been appointed for a second term as Vice President for Education. The term is five years and starts on 1 September 2023.

Petri Suomala has been working as a Vice President for Education since September 2018. During his term, education at Aalto University has been significantly developed, e.g. in terms of increased enrollments in degree education, program offerings, hybrid teaching and lifewide learning. In addition, Suomala has played an important national coordinating role between universities in managing the difficult pandemic situation.

Vice President for Education leads and coordinates the development of the university's educational activities across Aalto and represents the university in the development of education nationally and internationally. He also oversees the support services for education. Vice President reports to Provost Kristiina Mäkelä.
