President recruitment process initiated

In its meeting of 28 March, the Aalto University Board decided to initiate the process of recruiting the next President of Aalto University.

The recruitment will begin in April with an open call for applications. In addition, Perrett Laver, a leading international recruitment specialist in higher education will assist in the process.

The recruitment process will be supported by an internal search committee led by Anne Brunila, the Chair of the Board, and Mikko Kosonen, the Vice Chair. Further information will be released about the recruitment process in April.

The Board accepted the resignation of President Tuula Teeri, effective 31 October 2017 as she becomes President of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA). The Board nominated Provost Ilkka Niemelä to serve as acting President for the transition period, in accordance with Aalto University bylaws.
