The Aalto Space app, developed for campus space reservations and navigation, reaches a record number of aaltonians every month. Between January and February 2025, the average number of app users has been between 10 000 and 11 000 per month. This is a fantastic growth compared to the previous year, when the average number of users was 8 000 per month. The number of new downloaders and first-time users in January and February has been around a thousand per month.

"The growth in the number of users of the app has been rewarding! We are constantly improving the app and paying attention to user feedback. Most recently, campus restaurants and cafes have been added to the app for navigability, along with links to lunch menus. Also Aalto University's Mikkeli campus has been added ºÚÁÏÍø Space at the beginning of this year," say Jyrki Koski from Aalto University IT Services and Milla Uusitalo from ACRE.

In the background, improvements are also continuously being made to campus facilities data and the timeliness of the information. The next major development in Aalto Space is the development of accessibility, which will make the user experience of the application even better.

Did you know that with Aalto Space you can not only make space reservations, but also navigate to different spaces on campus, and zoom the campus map also for indoor spaces. On the campus map, you can find for example campus sports facilities, electric car charging points and even waste recycling points. You can also send feedback about the facilities or the app in general.
