Renewal of the guidelines on credit transfer

The regulations and guidelines on credit transfer will be renewed during spring 2018.

The aim is to simplify the recognition and identification of learning gained elsewhere as a part of studies and to enhance the equal treatment of students. At the same time, an online form will be developed to make the application process easier for the students.

The University Academic Affairs Committee (AAC), at its meeting on 6 February, discussed the need for changes in the Aalto University General Regulations on Teaching and Studying (OOS) (section 36). The regulations state the key principles of credit transfer. The renewal is being prepared in a separate working group. The aim is to introduce the amendment to the rules to be decided at the AAC meeting on 10 April. After the AAC decision, the vice president for education will give more detailed instructions on credit transfer. The new guidelines are expected to enter into force on 1 August 2018.
