Safety is on everyone’s mind
Concern for our safety and each other is common for us all. Safety is a feeling, but today it increasingly also means information and ability to act. Information contributes to our feelings of safety.
Welcome to the public lecture series Internet Forum. A total of nine lectures cover security and safety issues from many different perspectives. One of the most important objectives of the lecture series is to share knowledge about technology, security and our future for everyone. It also connects professionals from different fields to discuss how technology and security are interconnected.
‘Our most important task is to ensure that society and companies have sufficient expertise and the latest, researched knowledge. Everyone must take responsibility in the digital world and know what security means for companies, society and users,’ says Jarno Limnéll, Professor of Practice in Cyber Security at Aalto University.
The lecture series is open to everyone and you can listen the online broadcast from wherever is most convenient for you or join us at the Otaniemi campus. All lectures can also be viewed as a recording afterwards. The first lecture will be opened on Tuesday 13 September by Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka.
‘This year, the lecture series is also part of the FITech network, which offers free university courses for adult students and degree students. In addition to students who need the study credits, anyone generally interested in the topic is welcome to join the lectures’, Limnéll adds.
The programme for the lecture series and later also the recordings of the lectures can be viewed in their entirety
