鈥楾his year, the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation will distribute EUR 12.6 million to projects in the fields of science (63%), art (21%) and societal activities (16%). 鈥極nce again, we wanted to offer diverse funding: on the one hand, we wanted to contribute to the preconditions for scientific and artistic activities and, on the other, to enable experimental projects that develop different fields,鈥 says Executive Director Arto M盲enmaa.
This year, there was an increase of EUR 600 000 in the support awarded to science, art and societal activities by the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation. The total amount also includes the funding of the Foundation's own activities, such as residences and purchased visual art (EUR 400 000) and the operation of the Wihuri Research Institute, which conducts biomedical research (EUR 2 000 000).
The Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation is an independent non-profit foundation established in 1942. The Foundation works towards fulfilling the requisites of a thriving society by enabling science, art and societal activities.鈥
