The Luomo collective group will participate in Salone Satellite, which focuses on promising young designers. Luomo's exhibition consists of furniture and lamps. The aim is to promote the internationalisation of Finnish furniture design and to present the competence of promising young Finnish designers at international fairs.

Luomo collective is a group of five furniture designers, who have attracted a lot of interest in Finland and other countries in recent years. The group includes Hanna-Kaarina Heikkilä, Anni Pitkäjärvi, Hanna Särökaari, Laura Väre and Elina Ulvio, who have collaborated with actors in several fields and displayed their skills at fairs around the world. The members of Luomo are all completing master's studies at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture.

The theme of the exhibition that is heading to Milan was inspired by our fascinating traditions and the unique Finnish atmosphere and spirit. The exhibition presents functional and natural products with clear lines that evoke Scandinavian style and traditions combined with a modern, international touch. Natural materials, such as wood, plywood and glass, play a key role in the products.

The work of another group of Aalto students and graduates – both Finnish and international – will be seen at Milan's Ventura Lambrate. The Noni exhibition presents an impressively diverse collection of work from eight designers.

Student Anna Lampinen has also collaborated with designer Antti Tuomi to produce the Vatna bench, which will be on display at Tuomi's stand. More information about Vatna and other products is available at

The annual Milan Furniture Fair is the biggest furniture event of the year, presenting new directions in furniture and lighting design. This year, the 55th fair begins on 12 April and ends on 17 April.
