The findings of the thesis are important in ensuring the structural integrity of tall wood structures.
The subject of Luntta’s study was the analytic and numeric calculation of the effects of deflections on the functions of intermediate floors and wall plates built from cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels.
The jury commended the timeliness of the thesis, as the use of CLT panels in building frames has increased significantly in recent times. The findings of the thesis are important in ensuring the structural integrity of tall wood structures.
The thesis was supervised by Professor Jari Puttonen, with Heikki Solarmo of Pöyry Finland and Janne Manninen of Stora Enso as thesis advisors.
