The fourteen furniture design masters students have designed and built chairs for the Stockholm Furniture Fair.

14 chairs, accompanied by tableware — coffee cups and ashtrays, are displayed in a café setting. The chairs are made of solid ash using slender dimensions 8 × 24 mm and 24 × 24 mm, and are all stained black. The café is a culturally significant place for it is here, where people regardless of their social standing can meet, share, and develop daring, artistic or political ideas.

The students were supervised by Aalto University School of Arts, Design, and Architecture Professor Jouko Järvisalo, Lecturer Martin Relander and assistant Natalia Baczynska Kimberley.

The students' Chat Noir exhibition can be viewed in the Greenhouse section of the Stockholm Furniture Fair at exhibition stand number VH 03:48.
