We are pleased through these donations to further strengthen the already highly regarded academic positions of Hanken and Aalto. The foundation has played an absolutely central role in promoting excellence in business administration research during fifty years. This professorship will have a lasting impact well into the future,’ Hanken’s Rector Ingmar Björkman says. He would also like to express his gratitude towards Hanken’s Support Foundation that matches the funding for the professorship at Hanken.

Timo Korkeamäki, Dean of the School of Business, says that the donation is a very significant long-term investment in the university’s academic work. ‘It allows us to further strengthen our contributions both to the Finnish business community and to the global academic community. We are honoured and grateful for the donation.’

The announcement of the professorships was made on November 6th at Hanken School of Economics, where the  celebrated its 50th anniversary with a seminar on management and leadership. The keynote speaker at the seminar was Jacob Wallenberg, Chairman of Investor Ab. Hanken and Aalto University organized the event in cooperation.
